SAE J1772 Receptacle

Automotive battery charging socket: 16A / 32A, 120V AC / 240V AC

SAE J1772 power connectors are designed for electric powered vehicle vehicles, easy to install. These connectors are now widely adopted by electric vehicle manufacturers and are used for daily vehicle battery charging operations.

Ready for being cabled:

• Insert peeled wires into corresponding terminal holes, and crimp them
• Push the "O" rings (seal) upto the end of rod of terminals
• Put crimped terminals into their positions on receptacle body
• Lay the big "O" rings (seal) in the groove of receptacle body
• Tighten the terminal pressing cover with the tool (hexagon wrench, included in the package of product)
• Sleeve the back cover upto the cable outlet of receptacle body, tighten the 4 bolts for connecting the receptable body and back cover
• Adjust the strength of wire seal by fastening the plastic screw of the back cover
• Add extra cable protection (optional, depending on the requirement of application, example: cabled SAE J1772 receptacle, cable length 0.5 meter)

Currently, we supply the SAE J1772 connectors for two working current ratings: 16A and 32A. Recommended wire size:

• Working current 0-15A: 14 AWG wire (conductor section area 2.08 mm²)
• Working current 16-20A: 12 AWG wire (conductor section area 3.31 mm²)
• Working current 21-32A: 10 AWG wire (conductor section area 5.26 mm²)

The contact size of 16A connector is the same of 32A connector. So 32A connector can replace 16A connector. But 16 connector should not be used for replacing 32A connector due to its small current capacity.
